We build our generators with durability in mind – that means using only the highest quality materials inside and out.
While most generators on the market utilize aluminum windings to save on cost, DuroMax generators feature 100% copper windings.
Copper is an excellent electrical conductor because it absorbs heat quickly and holds it for a long period of time. On the other hand, economical aluminum only has 60% of the conductivity of copper and easily overheats.
Excessive heat causes the wire to degrade at a much quicker rate. After 300 to 500 hours of usage, aluminum windings will only provide 80% (or less) of the rated power, which means you’ll have to replace your genset sooner.
Our copper windings allow you to put out the same amount of power for longer, extending the life of your generator and ensuring it lasts you for years.
